RECYCLING
Donarbon has recognised for some time that more needs to be done with our waste, that it is a potential resource to be used again rather than a problem that has to buried, and that by implementing environmentally friendly waste treatment processes it is not only helping the environment, but also its customers to meet their corporate social responsibility and environmental commitments.
As well as investing in new technology to treat waste, Donarbon has developed a wide range of recycling services that are tailored to suit all our customers, including;
Donarbon can provide and service a wide variety of wheeled bins and skips for the collection of most materials that can be recycled or composted either separately or mixed e.g. glass, plastics, paper, cardboard, metals, food and garden waste, timber, concrete etc. from all retail, hospitality, office, manufacturing, building, gardening and other businesses outlets.
If you lack space and can only fit one skip, Donarbon guarantees to sort all mixed skip waste and extract metals, timber, concrete and other rubble, plasterboard and cardboard for recycling or composting. Currently we are diverting 60% of mixed skip waste from landfill.
You can deliver your own waste to us for recycling or composting. If you are a builder, tree surgeon, landscape gardener, electrician etc. and you are able to transport the waste generated by your own businesses, then you can bring your own waste to us for recycling. Donarbon has licensed waste transfer facilities at Waterbeach, Alconbury and March.

Donarbon deals with around 300,000 tonnes of waste of year, of which;
- 55% currently goes to landfill (this will reduce substantially when the MBT plant is fully operational).
- 45% is recycled or composted, including green waste, construction/demolition waste, paper, cardboard, glass and metals.
