FREE COMPOST COLLECTION
Donarbon makes the soil improver we produce through our in-vessel composting system available for the public to collect free of charge at our 3 main sites in Cambridgeshire. These sites are:
We will not be able to provide any assistance in loading soil improver for free, whether with tools, machinery or staff. You will need to bring your own spade or shovel and sacks or a small trailer. The free soil improver is available:
Please remember when coming to any of our 3 sites to collect compost that they are working sites and refuse trucks, skip lorries and other plant will be moving around the sites all day, so please observe sensible safety precautions and only go the areas of the sites where the compost is made available. We do also provide skip loads of compost to allotments or if you have a particularly large garden or landscaping project, but we do have to make a charge for this service to cover the costs of loading and transporting the skip. The material is an excellent soil improver and can be dug into any garden or allotment. It will add slow release nutrients to the soil, and provide humus to improve soil structure and water retention. The compost is quite rich and is too rich to be used as potting compost for seeds or seedlings; we suggest you mix one part ordinary soil to one part compost. Safe handling When using the soil improver please observe normal safety precautions that you would use during any type of gardening.
