1960s/70s
M Dickerson Ltd demolished abandoned World War 2 airfields across East Anglia Aggregate arising was recycled and used for regional road building. Petty Cury and Lion Yard area in Cambridge City Centre was demolished to make way for a new retail development.

1969
Donarbon Ltd was formed by John (originally trading as Landbeach Sand and Gravel Company (1969); the company used the sand and gravel quarry void at the Waterbeach site as landfill, through its core business of skip hire and taking local builders construction and demolition waste, much of this created by the demolition work of M Dickerson (Excavations) Ltd.

The headquarters of M Dickerson Ltd and Donarbon Ltd moved from Kings Hedges Road to the Waterbeach site on the A10. |

2001
Planning consent was granted for the redevelopment of the Waterbeach Waste Management Park.Sadly John Dickerson passed away and left the companies to his immediate family.

2002
Donarbon Ltd won the household waste disposal contract with Cambridgeshire County Council to take the majority of ‘black bag’ waste from across Cambridgeshire, plus the contract to compost the garden waste from most of the household recycling centres in the county.

2003
Donarbon Ltd earned the title of the first fully licensed ABPR compliant site in the UK, through its innovative ‘in-vessel’ composting facility, and started composting kerbside mixed food and garden waste from some of the District Councils in Cambridgeshire on a commercial basis. |

Dickerson Group Ltd formed; made up of Donarbon Ltd, M Dickerson Ltd and Frimstone Ltd. Alconbury site purchased by Donarbon.

2006
Donarbon’s partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council resulted in some of the UKs highest recycling diversions. Subsequently CCC was granted Beacon Status authority. |

2008
Signing of the Cambridgeshire PFI 28 year contract for recycling and waste disposal in partnership with Cambridgeshire County Council. Official opening of Alconbury transfer station for PFI contract.

Donarbon takes over the operation and management of all 9 HRC sites as part of the PFI contract with Cambridgeshire County Council.
Opening of the new MBT facility at the Waste Management Park, Waterbeach, built to divert black bin household waste from landfill.
Official opening of Donarbons’ new in-vessel composting facility.
Official opening of March transfer station under PFI contract.
