Donarbon is part of the Dickerson Group, which offers a comprehensive and innovative waste service to businesses, local authorities and the general public. We are the main waste contractor for Cambridgeshire County Council, based at our 200 hectare (500 acre) site at Waterbeach, Cambridgeshire.

MBT FACILITY



November 9th 2009 saw the opening of Cambridgeshire’s advanced Mechanical Biological Treatment (MBT) facility at Donarbon’s Waste Management Park in Waterbeach.

The MBT plant, which cost just over £41Million to build and equip, is the centrepiece of the 28-year PFI waste management contract between Cambridgeshire County Council and Donarbon, whereby Donarbon will be responsible for treating the majority of household waste from Cambridgeshire and ensuring that councils meet their recycling and landfill diversion targets.

ENVIRONMENT



The Dickerson Group of Companies have our own Environment Policy Statement and our aim has always been to work with the environment.

We are the largest producer of recycled aggregates in East Anglia. We have carried out a number of site reclamation schemes which have brought despoiled land back to agricultural or amenity use. Our 500 acre site at Waterbeach is a haven for wildlife, particularly birds. The rough grazing on the restored landfill is home to a variety of plants and animals including bee orchids, barn owls, tawny owls, skylarks and the brown hare.

M Dickerson is part of the Dickerson Group who have been suppliers to the construction industry for over 75 years, delivering graded aggregates using their own lorry fleet and providing plant hire, thereby offering a comprehensive service.

SKIP & BIN HIRE



Donarbon Ltd operates an extensive range of skip and Big Hook vehicles to fulfil all waste collection and disposal needs. The bins and containers range from 1.5m3 (2 yard) mini skips to 30m3 (40 yard) Rolonoff containers. Our fleet of vehicles includes Rear End Loaders (REL) and a range of wheeled bins, from 80 -1100 litres’ capacity, for hire.

EDUCATION & VISITS

Education Centre

We welcome visits from schools and colleges, special interest groups, local businesses and the general public in Cambridgeshire. We can arrange for groups to tour the site and see what happens to Cambridgeshire's waste.  Activities and workshops for schools and colleges can be organised in the Education Centre.

OPEN DAY 2010

Donarbon Donarbon would like to thank everyone who came to our Open Day on Saturday June 19th. Despite the rather horrible weather around 2,000 local residents came to our Waterbeach site, and we hope that you had an enjoyable (and informative) time taking tours round the site, trips round the MBT plant, looking at the displays, taking part in the competitions and climbing on the vehicles and machinery. We will be holding another Open Day next year.
